Visit the museum

A warm welcome to the Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities. Here you can explore a rich collection of cultural and everyday objects from the Mediterranean region and the Near East. Then and there becomes here and now.

The Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities (Medelhavsmuseet) is located at Fredsgatan 2, right in the heart of central Stockholm. The nearest subway stations are Kungsträdgården or T-Centralen. Buses 62 and 65 stop at Gustav Adolfs Torg. Buses 3 and 52 stop at Tegelbacken.

Parking is available at a parking garage on Regeringsgatan, and a few parking spaces can also be found near the Opera House.

Entry fee

Day pass

The day pass is 160 SEK and is purchased in the museum reception. A day pass gives you free admission to the museum for a whole day.

Annual pass

An annual pass costs 200 SEK and gives you free admission to the Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities (Medelhavsmuseet), the Museum of Ethnography (Etnografiska museet), the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities (Östasiatiska museet*) for 365 days from date of purchase.

• Everyone under 19 years old.
• All visitors, regardless of age, on Wednesdays from 6 PM to 8 PM.
• Asylum seekers with a valid LMA card or UT card from the Swedish Migration Agency
• Members of ICOM or the Swedish Museums Association (with valid card)
